All visitors to Cuba, Turkey & Panama must have a valid passport to obtain entry into the country. U.S. persons who do not have a current passport and who wish to apply for a U.S. passport can contact one of over 6,000 public places nationwide, (including most U.S. post offices), that provide passport information. You can find your local passport issuing office listed in the yellow pages or on the U.S. State Department website along with answers to frequently asked questions. If you are traveling within 2 weeks, you should contact your nearest U.S. Passport Agency.

Persons born in Cuba, who left the country on or prior to December 31, 1970, can travel to Cuba with a Cuban passport or a U.S. passport, providing it has a validity of at least six months from the date of travel. However all persons who left Cuba after this date must have a valid Cuban passport to obtain entry into the country. This passport can be obtained directly from the Cuban Interests Section in Washington, DC. Please call them at 202-797-8609 for more information.
As of July 1, 2001, all passengers traveling with a Cuban Passport must have a security hologram inside their passports in order to enter Cuba. Passengers that arrive at the U.S. airports without this hologram will be denied boarding privileges.
